FAQs

Where is Horseheath Racecourse?

Horseheath Racecourse, Linton, Cambs, CB21 4QP

The racecourse entrance is on the south side of the A1307 between Linton and Horseheath.

Your SATNAV will lead you on the wrong side of the dual carriageway, but there is a crossing point to the entrance opposite.  You should spot the flags. The Wild Wood Disco is occupying a small woodland in the middle of the site. Please follow the signs from the entrance.

Do I need to print out my ticket?

To gain access to the site you will need to show your ticket barcode.  This can be on your phone or on a print out.  We have security at the gate on the access road so please be ready to show them your ticket here,  and you will need it again at the box office to get your wristband.  You will not gain access to the site without your ticket. Anyone found inside the event without a wristband will be removed.

What time do the gates open?

The box office opens at 2pm so there will be no access into the woodland until then. However you can arrive onsite earlier, the main gates will be open at midday which will give campers plenty of time to pitch their tent. Last entry is at 9:30pm.

Can I bring alcohol?

No alcohol is permitted into the Wild Wood that has not been purchased from one of our bars. We will have security on the box office who will confiscate alcohol if you attempt to bring it in to the woods. There must be absolutely no glass brought onsite at all, even in the car park or campsite.  Horses and other animals will be on the grass soon after our event.

What is your search and security policy?

By purchasing a ticket you are submitting yourself to being searched.  No drugs, we have a drugs amnesty bin availabe before the search point.  No Nos on this site, if found it will be put into our amnesty bin.  No alcohol allowed into the woodland past the search point.  If alcohol is found it wil be thrown away.  Bring empty bottles in to fill up from our drinking water points. Our security may also remove anyone that we consider to be  intimidating or harrassing staff or public, we want to keep this party small and full of lovely, friendly people. Please do report any anti-social behaviour to our security staff.  Ask for Angela at any of bars if you feel you uncomfortable with anyone near you.

Is there an age restriction?

The Wild Wood Disco is an 18 and over only event.  ID might be asked for at the box office and our bars.  Challenge 21 is in place.

Transport options

The are 2 shuttle bus bookable through our ticketing page. 1 leaves at 1.30pm Parker's Piece in central Cambridge and departs the woods at 2am.  The other leaves from outside Hills Road sixth form college at 3pm and leaves the woods at 1am.  If you are driving, cars need to pay the parking fee but can be left overnight at no extra charge to minimise taxi costs. We do recommend using our Facebook event group to try and find taxi shares, an 8 seater taxi will cost £49 from central Cambridge and a 4 seater taxi will cost £39. This is using A1 Cabco who are offering a 10% discount on taxis booked in advance, call 01223 313131.

Is there a cash machine onsite?

There is no cash machine onsite. Our main bars all have cash machines and will do cash back.  Some of the street food traders and some of the bars will only take cash.

Are there tickets on the door?

We hope to be sold out by then as we were last year, so at the moment we are not planning to have any tickets on the door.

I'm camping, what is there in the camping field?

No naked flames or barbecues on the camp site, we do allow gas camping stoves.

We´ll have nice toilets and a drinking water unit. We will have the Rural Coffee Project serving hot drinks and Warm and Toastie serving food from 8.30am. We´re afraid no boom box or large sound systems on the campsite.  It is a very short walk into The Wild Wood from there. Strictly no cars in the camping field, they must be left in the car park. We ask that campers leave by midday the next day and take all their rubbish with them.

What food traders can I expect?

To be confirmed.

Can I volunteer with you?

Yes, volunteer applications are open please click here to fill out a form.

Is there disabled access?

We have a dedicated disabled parking area for blue badge holders which is just 20 metres from the entrance to the festival.  This will open from midday on the 30th June. There will be disabled toilets onsite.  We offer free tickets for carers of someone who is registered disabled. Call ticket sellers on 0121 472 6688 to arrange this.
